Riot following NDSU football game

A mass of as many as 3,000 people lit fires, threw bricks and shattered windows.

Authorities are still trying to determine how much damage the people caused in a residential area just off the Mankato campus.

It took about 160 police officers from almost 40 different departments to quell the disturbance. That finally happened around 4:30 this morning.

Bob Idding lives near the scene of last night's riots. He says he can't believe what he saw after he walked around -- riot police on the streets of his town.
